Summa Western Reserve Hospital welcomes new EMR manager

Summa Western Reserve Hospital recently announced the appointment of Irene McQueen as its new Electronic Medical Record System Manager.

As manager for the hospital’s Electronic Medical Record System, McQueen is responsible for leading the installation and project management of the system. Duties in this role include coordinating upgrades, day-to-day operational support and overseeing the testing and installation of all systems required to provide input or output to and from the EMR while enforcing project management, budget and change control.

 

She will also collaborate with various affiliated vendors, department directors, physicians and executives and monitor governmental regulatory requirements consistent with HIPAA security policies surrounding medical records.

 

Prior to joining Summa Western Reserve Hospital she served as manager of clinical systems and lead clinical systems analyst for Summa Health System in Akron. She has also served as senior clinical analyst for University Hospital in Cleveland. McQueen earned a bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing from Kent State University and earned her Information Systems Certificate in Networking from Lakeland Community College.
