Domestic violence workshop takes place in Barberton

As part of its community outreach, Power of a Dream Sister Helping Sisters Ministries’ will host a domestic violence workshop in partnership with Livingstone Baptist Church in Barberton Oct. 13. The workshop takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; lunch will be served immediately following the workshop. The group is reaching out to the Barberton community up close and personal.

Guests for the domestic violence workshop will include: Nadine Bates – Motivational Speaker and mistress of ceremonies; the Rev. Paul Watson – Pastor of Livingstone Baptist Church; Bonnie Watson – First Lady of Livingstone Baptist Church; Dr. Martha Banks – Neurologist; David Siko – Summit County Probation Officer; Victim Assistance; Gregory Head (Self-Defense) – Founder of MBS Martial Arts; and Elder Joseph Lee – Grief Healing.

Power of a Dream Sisters Helping Sisters Ministries' mission is to create an awareness to nurture women, but not limited to men, spiritually, mentally, physically, educationally and emotionally by using their true life experiences to lead them from bondage to freedom.

The group will host another domestic violence workshop at First Apostolic Faith Church in Akron Nov. 10.
