A strange phenomenon. A cross appears at sunset on Easter Sunday in 2009 and again in 2010.
The image was seen at approximately 6:38 p.m. and I knew the sun would soon set. I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to photograph what I believed to be a miracle.
As the sun slowly set deeper into the sky, we all got cameras and used our cell phones and began taking pictures, a t first outside then back inside through the dining room window to get a better angle.
I took several shots of the sun’s pattern in the back yard toward the South just in case I missed something that indicated its origin. Hoping perhaps some shape or form from nearby houses or electric pole reflecting off a light source could explain the cross.
I turned toward the house Eastward to capture any type of reflection that could possibly explain this strange phenomena.
After seeing this spooky image in my dining room window, thinking this couldn’t possibly be real, I whispered a word of prayer thanking God for all his blessing He’s bestowed upon my family and me. I asked for blessings, divine protetion for my loved ones and a special financial prosperity blessing for us all.
As the sun made a slow descent in the sky so did the cross. Knowing it would soon disapper, we all stood in awe of God’s handiwork and reminded ourselves of problems, issues, hardships and conflicts we had been facing before seeing the cross seeking God’s face asking God in no uncertain terms to answer our prayers.
Miracleously in the coming days, weeks and months ahead, God indeed answered our prayers, gave us favor and opend doors that had been closed in our faces.
We all thought that was the end of our miracle and continued to go about our business for the next year 2010.
Once again during a spring evening sunset it happened again; this time it was a month later rather than in March 2009. I assumed the late arrival/delay was due to the spring equinox
Its location somewhat changed; nonetheless, it arrived in our backyard shortly after Easter Sunday!
This time I got closer to it in the yard to capture its image, repeated the same process as I did the year before, simply taking its picture. This time the cross was where I could actually see it better, up close, on ground level.
When my husband returned home I told him, “The cross is back” and showed him the pictures. We both agreed to pray as we did before, telling our son to do the same when he came to visit.
Wouldn’t you know it…voila…our prayers were answered once again!
I didn’t have time to think but my husband asked why didn’t I reach out and touch the cross (sigh).
Not thinking, clearly lacking the presence of mind, I merely wanted to capture the image of the cross again as I’d done before.
But the thought of actually touching it gave me goose bumps. A thousand what if's ran through my mind and leapt at the possibilities.
We shall see what mischief God has in store for us this Easter.

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all [things] under his feet:
All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
O LORD our Lord, how excellent [is] thy name in all the earth! Psalms 8:4-9
