Akron will decide who has the most talent Sept. 17 at the Akron’s Got Skills talent competition, sponsored by Brain Host, a local web hosting company. All ages are invited to take the stage at Musica in downtown Akron from noon to 4 p.m. for the event. Participants will be judged by local leaders.

“We want to see what kind of skills Akron and Northeastern Ohio has to offer,” said a Brain Host representative. “We want everyone from break-dancers to violinists, and everything in between.”

Think you got what it takes? Think you have skills? Demonstrate your talent at the Akron’s Got Skills talent competition. The First Prize is $500. Second Prize is a 32-gigabyte iPod. Third Prize is a $100 gift card. Viewers will also have a chance to vote on their favorite talent. The Audience Choice Prize is a $100 gift card.

Akron’s Got Skills is being judged online by a panel of local leaders and influencers. The top three talents will receive juried prizes. Participants will take the stage on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a one-penny entrance fee. Brain Host will videotape Akron’s Got Skills and use the footage for online voting and web videos.

Anyone under 18 who wishes to participate must have a parent or guardian present to sign a release. Group performances may include up to six people. Performances may be no longer than three minutes.

Musica is located at 51 E. Market St. in downtown Akron. More information about Akron’s Got Skills may be found online at www.brainhost.com/talent or www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=196263573774219.
