Registration now open; contest begins April 15

Akron Film+Pixel offers an opportunity for teams of student filmmakers, ages 13 to 19, to get their work seen in the “Just Another Day” Student Video Contest. They'll have two weeks (April 15 through 29) to make a five-minute film about one day in their lives. It might be a true story, it might be exaggerated or fictional.
Every entry will be shown May 3 at 7 p.m. at a special event at the Akron Art Museum that will be free and open to the public. This is a chance for students to invite their teachers, family and friends to see their creative work on the big screen. An independent panel plus an audience vote will determine the winner, which will be announced later that evening. The winning team will receive $250 cash and their film will be screened again as part of the Akron Film+Pixel Festival in 2013.
There is a $20 entry fee per team and no limit on team size. Teams must supply their own cameras and other equipment. Special conditions, such as a line of dialogue and a prop that all teams must include, will be unveiled at an orientation April 15 at 2 p.m. at the Akron Art Museum. The results of the “Just Another Day” contest will be screened for free to the public in the Charles and Jane Lehner Auditorium at the Akron Art Museum on the evening of May 3. Check www.akronfilm.com April 15 for the start time, which will depend on the number of entries.
Parking is free after 6 p.m. in the High Street municipal garage directly across the street from the entrance of the Akron Art Museum.
